I have been awful at documenting life with my camera – guilty of not using the nice camera I had to its maximum, like I used to. So recently when I was upgraded to a better hand me down camera and lens, the joy of taking photographs has reappeared! I took full advantage to capture photographs at the Mary Blair exhibit currently going on at the Walt Disney Family Museum here in San Francisco, running until September.
Mary Blair was a fabulous artist that was one of Walt Disney’s most cherished inspirations. Many of the classic movies and characters are inspired by her hand. She left a very Mary touch on many of Disney’s most recognizable feats! I’ve followed anything Mary Blair for some time now, so when I caught wind that this exhibit was starting, I knew I had to go! Luckily, they allowed photographs! The main part of the museum allows no pictures at all, so it was a treat to be given free roam to take pictures of something I loved so much.
And this post couldn’t have come at a better time – Disney is also celebrating 50 years of singing along to It’s a Small World, a ride that came out of a vision and love from Mary Blair. So this post is for all of you art and Disney lovers!
The crazy part is that I didn’t even link to all the pictures I took! If you click on any of the photos, it will take you to my Flickr account where you can see them all!
If you’d like to look back on more of my San Francisco adventures, I’ve kept them bookmarked with this SF tag here for your viewing pleasure.
And P.S. a huge THANK YOU to all of you that took the time to enter the tablet giveaway, I will announce the winner shortly!
